The task of mitosis detection is difficult as the nuclei are microscopic in size and partially labeled, and there are many more non-mitotic nuclei compared to mitotic ones. I will share our model that is resource efficient, works on multiple unseen datasets and its results are interpretable. I will also discuss the role of synthetic medical data in model optimization and with the advent of generative AI how synthetic data will dominate real data going forward.<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #000000;\">Biography:\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p class=\"text-justify\" style=\"color: #212529; font-size: 16px; font-family: Lato, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; outline: 0px !important;\">Dr. Hammad Naveed is currently the Pro-Rector of the University of Central Punjab. He also serves as Professor of Computer Science at the Faculty of IT &amp; CS. Dr. Naveed was the founding Director of the Computational Biology Research Lab at the National University of Computer &amp; Emerging Sciences (NUCES-FAST), Islamabad Pakistan. He also served as the Director of the Lahore campus of NUCES-FAST from 2021-2023. He received his PhD in Bioinformatics from University of Illinois at Chicago (2012) on a Fulbright Scholarship. He was a Research Assistant Professor at the Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago, University of Chicago from 2014-2017. He received his postdoctoral trainings at the CAS-MPG Partner Institute for Computational Biology, Shanghai China (2012-2013) and at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Saudi Arabia (2013-2014). He has published 60+ research papers in leading journals and conferences.
