Professor Ying Liu received her PhD from Monash University, Australia, and her Master degree from National University of Singapore. She carried out her postdoc research in Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and then served as a lecturer in Republic Polytechnic in Singapore. In 2011, she joined Xi’an University of Posts and Telecommunications. She is now director of Center for Image and Information Processing, and chief scientist of the Key. Lab. of Electronic Information Processing for Crime Scene Investigation Applications under Ministry of Public Security, China. Prof. Liu’s research interests include image/video retrieval, image understanding and recognition. She has published about 100 papers in international magazines and conference proceedings, and she received Pattern Recognition Best Paper Award in 2010. Prof. Liu was honored as one of the outstanding expert in the ‘100 Expert Plan’ of Shaanxi Province in 2011.
