Abstract:
This keynote talk, titled “The Weakest Link” will explore the critical role human vulnerabilities play in various cybersecurity challenges. Focusing on phishing, password security, social media risks, smartphone vulnerabilities, and Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs), the session will dissect real-world examples to underscore the psychological tactics cybercriminals employ. Attendees will gain insights into mitigating risks by understanding the nuanced interplay between human behavior and the evolving cyber threat landscape, ultimately empowering them to fortify the human link and enhance overall cyber resilience. The audience will also be enlightened about the National Cyber Emergency Response Team of Pakistan and its vision, structure and components.
Biography:
Mr. Khurram Javed is currently serving as Director Capacity Building at National CERT, Government of Pakistan. He is a renowned Cyber Security professional with over 15 years of experience in strategic planning, development, analysis, and execution of projects for diversified clientele across the globe. In his professional tenure, Mr. Khurram has been actively engaged as a Security Consultant and Head of Capacity Development with multiple corporate sector organizations. He is a Prolific Mentor, Red Teamer, Active Researcher and Architect of various Cyber Security Awareness programs. He is a Certified EC-Council Instructor (CEI), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Computer Hacking Forensics Investigator (CHFI), EC-Council Certified Security Analyst (ECSA) and a Licensed Penetration Tester (LPT) from EC-Council Academy, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and is enlisted amongst their Roll of Honor. His competence as a Cyber Security Expert is well acknowledged by the industry through deliverance in capacity enhancement and consulting projects.
